ETHYDCO supply Electrical Power to SIDPEC upcoming Project

Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Eng. Tariq Al-Mulla witnessed the concluding of Electrical Power Supply Agreement Signatory from ETHYDCO to the new Project of Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals Company (SIDPEC) for Propylene and Polypropylene production.

The signing ceremony was attended by Eng. Mohamed Saafan, First Undersecretary of the Ministry of Petroleum and Chemist. Saad Helal, Chairman of the Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company (ECHEM). The Agreement was signed by both Chairman counterparts, from SIDPEC Eng. Mohamed Ebadi and from ETHYDCO Chemist. Abdel Megueed Hegazi.

Following the Agreement Signatory, Egyptian Minister of Petroleum declares that the economic thought managed by the Egyptian petrochemical industry represents a strong incentive for investors in this vital field and opens up new horizons for this industry to achieve more success either in meeting the local market needs or supporting the existing industries, exporting abroad or settling new technologies.

It is worth mentioning that Propylene and Polypropylene project will be implemented within the National Petrochemical Plan with a total capacity of 450000 MT of Polypropylene products with investments of more than one billion USD, its derivatives intervening in various industrial economic activities.

Thus, It is also represents an example of the integration between the Egyptian oil and gas companies where SIDPEC project gets the Propane from Gasco and electrical power from ETHYDCO as ETHYDCO Permanent Power Plant provides the necessary electrical feed for the new project of SIDPEC.
