Ethydco Contributes in establishing the first auditorium for Special Needs

Last Thursday morning, 7th of February Dr. Khaled Abdelghaffar the Minister of higher education and scientific research and Chem. Abdelmegid Hegazy Ethydco Chairman opened the first equipped auditorium for special needs in Egyptian Universities in the Faculty of Arts, Ein Shams University. Opening this auditorium established by the Egyptian Ethylene and Derivatives Company (ETHYDCO), is framed in the company`s pioneering role in the scope of community development and achieving sustainable development starting from a vision which ensures that in order to achieve an added value to Egypt`s petroleum resources, an added value to our society should be achieved first specially in the fields of human construction with education on top. The Minister of higher education and scientific research Dr. Khaled Abdelghaffar expressed his pride in opening this auditorium which is meant to provide educational services to disabled students as a means of merging and availability.

Chem. Abdelmegid Hegazy Ethydco Chairman confirmed that the company has a vision towards its role in the scope of community development that is working on fulfilling and expanding it. This first of a kind classroom in Egyptian Universities is equipped with latest educational technologies as well as computers connected to internet service, speakers and projectors to offer a special educational service and conduct training sessions and workshops to develop the special needs students` skills preparing them for the labour market after graduation.

Dr. Suzan El Keleiny, the Dean of Faculty of Arts Ein Shams University confirmed in her word during the celebration that the university coordinated with ETHYDCO for petrochemicals to provide the logistic support to establish the auditorium and expressed her appreciation to the civilized role ETHYDCO plays in the scope of community development.

Dr. Abdelwahab Ezzat chancellor of Ein Shams University, Dr. Maya Morsi the chairman of the national council for women and Dr. Heba Hagras the member of house of representative for special needs attended the celebration. At the end of the celebration Dr. Khaled Abdelghaffar the Minister of higher education and scientific research offered Chem. Abdelmegid Hegazy Ethydco Chairman a memorial shield and others for the Community Development team in the Department of External Communications.

This accomplishment was done thanks to the ongoing effort exerted by the department to meet the company’s policy in the field of community development whether educational, health or social.
