As part of implementing the fifth pillar of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ strategy to ensure a safe working environment, ETHYDCO conducted a mock fire scenario near the gasoline tank at the Ethylene Plant, in the presence of Chemist Hisham Riyad, Chairman and Managing Director, along with a number of the company’s senior leaders.
The drill demonstrated the speed and efficiency of the firefighting team’s response, the prompt arrival of the ambulance, and full adherence to the emergency communication sequence.
The Chairman also carried out a field tour that included the Ethylene Plant, followed by the Utilities Plant to monitor the overhaul work of the Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) unit, and concluded at the Polyethylene Plant to assess equipment operating conditions and the level of compliance with safety instructions. During the tour, he engaged directly with employees to listen to their views and suggestions aimed at improving work processes.
At the end of the tour, Chemist Hisham Riyad extended his appreciation to all employees for their efforts, praising their discipline and awareness, which reflect a genuine commitment to the culture of safety and teamwork. He stressed the importance of maintaining the highest standards of quality and safe operation, affirming that the company’s management will continue to provide full support to ensure a safe and stable working environment that preserves the safety of employees and the company’s assets.
