The Egyptian Ethylene and Derivatives Company (ETHYDCO) achieved outstanding success at the 20th edition of EGY Plast 2026, held from January 9 to 12, 2026, at the Egypt International Exhibition Center. The exhibition is considered one of the largest and most influential events for the plastics and petrochemicals industries in the Middle East and North Africa, with the participation of more than 500 companies from over 60 countries.
The accompanying strategic conference witnessed the participation of leading industry figures, where three chairmen of major Egyptian petrochemical companies discussed the future of the plastics industry in the region. Among them, Chemist Hesham Riyad, Chairman and Managing Director of ETHYDCO, highlighted the company’s experience in the circular economy and sustainable development, through expanding the recycling of polyethylene products as one of the key solutions for the future of the plastics industry, waste management, and sustainable packaging.
ETHYDCO’s pavilion attracted strong interest from senior officials, experts, and local and international customers from the first day of the exhibition. The company showcased its latest products, most notably the new polyethylene grade EM-5525-AAH, designed for blow molding applications and serving key industrial sectors, particularly manufacturers of motor oil and automotive lubricant containers.
The participation resulted in the signing of six new export contracts with international market customers, reflecting growing confidence in ETHYDCO’s products.
ETHYDCO praised its participation in the EGY Plast Exhibition, considering it a key platform for promoting its products and strengthening its corporate brand, as well as showcasing the company’s innovative, developmental, and environmentally sustainable solutions. The exhibition also provides an opportunity to open new markets and engage with potential customers. ETHYDCO further emphasized the significance of this edition, which uniquely combines the exhibition with a strategic conference and specialized technical and applied sessions, featuring valuable scientific and research contributions from Egyptian petrochemical sector companies.
